After no local college or high school player was selected in the 2014 NBA Draft, a few have received another opportunity to pursue a possible NBA future.

Former City College standout CJ Fair will get his chance with the Dallas Mavericks in the Summer League. According to the Syracuse Post-Standard, the former Syracuse star’s camp believed the Mavs would draft him in the second round but traded away their picks earlier in the week to re-acquire center Tyson Chandler.

Former Walbrook star Roscoe Smith has found a Summer League spot with the Los Angeles Lakers, according to SNY.tv. Smith finished his college career at UNLV after winning a national championship at UConn.

Davon Usher will get his opportunity with the Golden State Warriors in Summer League play according to the Bay Area News Group. Usher had a stellar career at Baltimore’s Digital Harbor High School before playing collegiately at Delaware.

The Miami Heat and Denver Nuggets will both give former Towson University forward Jerrelle Benimon a chance to participate in Summer League play. Benimon was a two-time CAA Player of the Year after transferring to Towson from Georgetown.

To this point, there is nothing known about the chances of former Aberdeen star Devon Saddler (Delaware) or former Patterson star Aquille Carr (NBA D-League Delaware 87’ers) getting an opportunity to play in Summer League.
